Join this winter excursion by bus to Bjorli, the little charming mountain village were winter lasts for 8 months. This excursion is a great winter adventure that goes through dramatic and changing Romsdalen landscape, passing frozen waterfalls, steep mountain sides and snow capped mountain peeks.

On your way up the Romsdalen valley you get close to some of Norway's most famous mountains; Mt Romsdalshorn, Mt Mannen and the Trollveggen massive. You will step outside the bus by the foot of Trollveggen to take pictures. As you approach Bjorli, the scenery changes, and suddenly you are in a high mountain terrain. There is a magic winterly atmposphere in Bjorli, just feel it when you step outside. 

In Bjorli join the ski lift to the top of the ski slopes, and enjoy a fantastic panoramic view over Reinheimen National Park. In the local barn OiiOii you are welcome to step inside and taste some samples of local specialities, and get something hot to drink.

 This is a journey through the changing landscape from the fjord to the mountain village Bjorli. You start with a sightseeing tour around Åndalsnes town, and continue up the Romsdalen valley before you end up in Bjorli.

- The Bjorli Winter Experience.

Go for a ride in the open chair lift "the Bjorli Express", to the top of the ski slopes. Please note that this activity is weather-dependent. It is only doable if the weather conditions are good enough. The ride takes 20 minutes, and you should dress warm for this activity!

You are also welcome inside the local barn OiiOii, to get a "taste of Bjorli" - some tasty samples of local specialities. 

- Photostop at Trollveggen, Europe's highest vertical mountain cliff. 

- Watch the "Trollfolk"-film inside Norsk Tindesenter - an adventurous film about Romsdalen.

Bus back to Åndalsnes and the ship.

About Bjorli

The mountain village Bjorli is situated at the border of Reinheimen National Park, 574 metres above sea. It stretches from Trollveggen in north and covers a huge area, including Romsdalen valley and the mountains south of Dombås. Reinheimen National Park is one of Norway’s newest national parks. It was established because of its rich animal life, and a growing need to take care of the wild animals' living conditions and flora. It is the home of the last habitats of wild reindeers in Europe. All five predators; lynx, wolverines, bears, wolves and eagles naturally belongs here. Bjorli attracts nature lovers and adventure seekers all year round. In autumn this is a popular area for hiking, fishing and hunting. In winter Bjorli is a popular ski resort, attracting ski enthusiasts from the whole region. Especially weekends can be busy, with many families having fun in the ski slopes, Bjorli ski resort offers slopes and parks with a great variety of difficulty levels. Bjorli is known for being the most snow-sure ski destionation in Norway.   

Duration: Approximately  4,5 hours. From 11 am to 15.15 pm.

Where to buy tickets: Tickets can be purchased online on this web page. You can also buy the tickets in our office inside the train station building before departure. 

Bus departure: Bus departs at 11.00 am from Åndalsnes train station. 

Rated: Easy – This is a tour for all ages, and with short walking distances. However there are no facilities for disabled. In Bjorli the ground is covered with snow in winter, and it can be difficult for people with limited mobility to move around.

Climate: It can be windy, minus degrees and snow from late October to the end of April. Coldest period is from December to March. 

Remember to bring: Wool underwear is preferable, warm outdoor clothing, headwear and gloves for your own comfort, especially if you want to go with the ski lift to the top. Good warm shoes and wooly socks are recommended.

You can buy the tickets online here. Please pick up your ticket in Romsdal Booking's office when you arrive in Åndalsnes. Romsdal Booking's office is located in the train station building, next to the port of Åndalsnes. Only 150 metres from the ship. Easy to find.

You can also buy tickets at Romsdal Booking's office when you are in port of Åndalsnes. But do not wait too long, this excursion is popular, and has limited seats. Romsdal Booking is open from 08.30 in the morning.
