Measuring approx. 40 metres in diameter, it is Nordmøre's largest burial mound and is assumed to be the grave of one of the chieftains killed at the battle of Rastarkalv in 995 AD.

Håkårøysa is the largest known burial mound in Nordmøre. It measures 33–35 metres across and is 1.5–2 metres high. There are no known finds from the mound. Until recently, the sea was the main thoroughfare for people along the coast, and this burial site is centrally situated along the inner shipping lane. Because of its low elevation relative to the present sea level, it is believed that the burial mound dates from the late Iron Age, i.e. the Merovingian or Viking Age. There are speculations that it may hide a ship grave, and if so the grave may well be intact, even if some stones have been disturbed. It is not unusual to find multiple graves in larger burial mounds.

Situated on Rånes, Averøy.
