Nordre Flatmark is situated in the municipality of Rauma, situated between and about 25km from both Åndalsnes and Bjorli. Nordre Flatmark is a sheepfarm, and offers a redecorated, old farmhouse, which is now our guesthouse. This house mirrors to a large extent a special family history throughout nearly 200 years at this farm.
Nordre Flatmark have 15 good beds wih high quality bedclothes. In addition there are 2 sleepingsofas which can be used as beds when needed. Some people want to book the whole house for themselves, while others want one sleepingroom or two. There is a bathroom and a separate WC in each of the two floors. The big kitchen is to be used by everyone in the house. The long and very old kitchentable is a favourite for many of our guests. There is also a nice diningroom with two long tables, and a sittingroom with TV. Upstairs there are two other sittingrooms, in which there also are a bed or two.
The kitchen is well equipped. There is a washingmachine in the house and of course wi-fi.
The farm is rich in history and has many cultural and historical attractions. The church which today is in our small village some 7km from here, stood at our farm up until 1902. The ancient churchyard (from the 1400s) which is close to our farmroad, is protected by the state authorities, and is worth a visit. There is a peaceful and very nice farmroad if you want to go for a stroll. And if you want us to tell you from the fairly dramatic farmhistory, you are welcome to ask.
Salmon fishing is a popular sport with many people. Nordre Flatmark own a fairly long part of Rauma river, with excellent areas for both flyfishing
and spoon bait. We sell fishing licence. In silent weather you may see how the salmon behave in the clear water of the river. – Many prefer to book our guesthouse for the period they fish in our river.
