The Romsdal gondola – opening May 2021

Experience the fantastic fjord and mountain views in Romsdalen in a new way! Just above the center of Åndalsnes and surrounded by the famous mountains Romsdalsfjellene, you will find Nesaksla at 697 m.o.h. Romsdalsgondolen, a state-of-the-art electric cable car, takes you 1679 meters from the fjord and up the mountainside. This is also Norway's first gondola built on the sustainability principles. A 360-degree view of the impressive Romsdalshorn, Vengetindene, Åndalsnes centre, lush valleys and the emerald green river Rauma awaits you at the top. In the restaurant, visitors can enjoy the view along with a delicious meal. Explore the area at the top, with short and well-prepared paths to several vantage points.

Tour description
A 4.5-minute gondola ride from the fjord to Nesaksla. Coffee, cake, or lunch can be purchased at the top. You have time to enjoy the wonderful views and walk along the paths before heading down again to Åndalsnes. You can also descend or take a guided walk back to the harbor along a steep path with partially stepped steps, where you also pass the Rampestreken viewpoint.
