Veøya island is centrally located in the Romsdal fjord, with good natural harbours and a rich history. Veøya means «the holy island» and there are also traces of pre-Christian cults. It has Norways oldest proven Christian graves dated to the 9th century, an 11th-century medieval stone church, a vicarage from 1750 and beautiful cultural landscape
Veøya is one of the official sites along the coastal pilgrim path "Kystpilegrimsleia". You can read more at www.pilegrimsleden.no.
