Vollasetra is a very nice summer mountain pasture by the entrance of Trollheimen. The cabins were built approx. 1860. Restoring began in 1996 and was officially opened September 2000. Today Vollasetra consists of four houses; Selet, Eldhuset, Øyabua and Fjøset.
Selet has two rooms with three double beds that had to be extended to fit today's hikers. The living room contains original furnitures and a light oven used for cooking.
Eldhuset was used for cooking and cheese making and as a storage for butter and cheese. The old iron pan is still there. 2 double beds and 2 single in the bedroom.
Øyabrua is the last cabin built at Vollasetra. 1 double bed and 1 single. Great view and romantic touch makes Øyabrua the "suite" of Vollasetra.
Fjøset (the barn) at Vollasetra is big and contains 12 cows and 6 goats. Renovated with a new roof and floor. On the interior the barn is like before, with possibilities for sleeping on flat beds if needed.
One can arrive at Vollasetra from three directions; from Vollan farm along a marked path (1,5 h), from Storlidalen (Bårdsgården) and from Liabø. Several nice day trips.
Total amount of beds: 11. The cabin is self-serviced and open all year. Fishing card for the area can be bought at Vollan Farm.
